24th June 2011 - Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow - 8.30pm
Glasgow Tango Studio is happy to present a special Argentine Tango event, a concert and milonga with live-music from The Scottish Tango Ensemble. The band was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration of four dynamic musicians based in Edinburgh and Glasgow: Gemma O’Keeffe (violin), Paul Chamberlain (accordion), Tom Berry (double bass) and Fiona Macleod (piano). Their programme will include some of Piazzolla’s most famous concert tangos as well as more traditional repertoire from the dance halls of Buenos Aires.
If you are new to Tango, or a visiting tanguero in town, this event is a great opportunity to withness the lively and friendly Glaswegian tango scene spiced up with Scottish talent in playing live this wonderful music.
